C.A.A.W.A. is a non-profit, no-kill organization dedicated to advocating for the safety and well-being of all Cullman county domestic animals. We are composed of a large group of determined and caring citizens who are ready to make a change in the lives of local animals unable to speak for themselves. We are an organization that is "on a mission" and have kept ourselves busy managing fundraisers, educating the public, and providing a variety of helpful and informative services throughout our county. We are energized by the amount of community services we have offered but are proudest, perhaps, of our foster care and adoption program. C.A.A.W.A. is working with the community, and the local animal shelter to increase the adoption rate for Cullman county's homeless animals. Unfortunately, dozens of dogs and cats are being euthanized daily, because there are not enough homes for them. While in C.A.A.W.A.'s care if an animal does not get adopted, it remains in C.A.A.W.A. approved foster care until a loving home is found. Even more, C.A.A.W.A. members and volunteers are ensuring that the adopted animals are vaccinated and spayed or neutered before their adoption.
